The product was to be launched in 2009 as Windows Phone, but several delays prompted Microsoft to develop Windows Mobile 6.5 as an interim release. Since the Windows Phone was discontinued, Microsoft is not attempting to create exclusive experiences for its mobile platforms. Thanks to the Your Phone app, it’s potential to use apps for Windows 10 on iOS and Android gadgets.
